Who We Are

About NAKA.

Uniting the North American Konkanis community since 1998 — preserving language, showcasing culture, and nurturing customs across generations.

Est. 1998

A national home for a small, spread-out community.

North American Konkanis Association (NAKA) was formed in 1998 when four visionaries saw a need for an all-encompassing national organization to unite the Konkanis community — preserving our language, showcasing our culture, and nurturing our customs and traditions.
With that vision guiding us, NAKA strives every day to serve as a resource, provide a helping hand when needed, and create a national presence for the Konkanis community.

What We Do

A central resource for the community.

NAKA supports regional planning committees, Sammelans, youth conventions, and local Konkanis organizations across North America — sharing decades of experience and reach.
Why NAKA

One umbrella for a scattered diaspora.

The Konkanis community is small and widely spread across the US and Canada. NAKA provides a national framework for joint initiatives while leveraging the strengths of every regional association.
